5 of the world’s greatest DJs

The electronic music scene has become more and more popular and mainstream over recent year thanks to a large number of hugely talented and successful DJs.

In this blog we’ll look at five of the most influential DJs from around the world.

Daft Punk

Although this French duo haven’t played regularly in many years this list would simply not be complete without them!  Their legendary albums Homework and Discovery are almost as popular now as they were when they were first released in 1997 and 2001.  It’s impossible to dispute that Daft Punk are one of the most influential electronic music acts ever.

Swedish House Mafia

This trio of DJs from Stockholm, Sweden have huge international appeal across a wide range of genres.  Their polished progressive house beats have won them the title of “the faces of mainstream progressive house music”.  Although they sadly split up last year Axwell, Steve Angello and Sebastian Ingrosso are still big names on the DJ scene.

DeadMau5

Easily recognised by his huge LED Mickey Mouse-esque head gear, Deadmau5 hails from Toronto, Canada, and first arrived on the scene in 2005.   Deadmau5 has perfected the art of putting on a show and his performances are truly stadium-worthy events.

Tiesto

Tiesto from the Netherlands is the true trance music legend.  Over the years Tiesto’s style has evolved from trance to more electro-based grooves, but no matter what he’s playing he has a huge international following supporting him every step of the way.  He is reported to be earning a whopping $20 million a year.

David Guetta

David Guetta is a DJ who has succeeded in cracking the mainstream popular music scene with his feel-good, pulsing tracks.  Some of his best known tracks include When Love Takes Over and Sexy Chick.
