DJ Wayne R started his career back in 1995 in Hastings. He used his trusty vinyl on Technic 1200’s at the Session Rooms, where he held a residency for two years. This was before moving down to play at Ye Olde Pump House public house in Hastings. One of the other residencies he had was at Old Town as well as JR’s and Saturdays Nightclubs (where former top 10 DJ’s John Digweed and Danny Howells started their careers). Here he played warm up sets for Boy George, Nigel Benn, Graham Gold.
DJ Wayne R Residencies
After this he did the usual rounds like many DJ’s do in their early careers. He worked at Weddings, Birthdays and parties and knew now that his skill and knowledge were very versatile.
Wayne started a new residency at Pier Pressure on Hastings Pier in 2001 where he DJ’d with Brandon Block (3 Times), Yomanda, 187 Lockdown, Lisa Pin up, Slipmatt and Paul Hutchinson to name a few.

Before deciding to broaden his horizons he went firstly to Magaluf. This is where he was snapped up by the original pre- club bar on the island Prince William Pub.
When coming back from Magaluf DJ Wayne got a residency at Bar Moda sports bar in Hastings town centre. This was before joining
Juliana’s DJ agency in Ealing, West London. It got him a contract in Dubai at the lavish KUBU Nightspot in the Intercontinental 5* Hotel.
He turned this new bar around into what is now known as one of the busiest and must go places to party in Dubai. DJ Wayne R also played guest slots at the Premier Nightclub in the Hyatt Regency 5* Hotel and Mixx Nightclub in the Grand Hyatt 5* Hotel along side DJ Rebekah of Charlys Angelz. He also featured in Time Out magazine after winning best DJ award 2004.
DJ Wayne R then moved up to Bedford and DJ’ed in a number of venues including the Soviet bar, the Blacksmiths Arms and the Lounge.
Tenerife
Two years later he was back on the plane, this time to Tenerife where he was offered a gig opening Bikini G’s (Now the famous Judge Jules Bar) and also played at various other venues across Starcos and Veronicas such as Edwards (formally Wetherspoons), The Players Lounge and Yates.
In 2011 DJ Wayne R traveled to Greece to DJ the summer season in Kos, playing Club Anthems and Old Skool house and Garage at My House, the Sunset Bar, the famous Aussie bar and Club Tropicana Strip club. On arriving back in the UK DJ Wayne Romero got a residency at the White Knight sports pub in Crawley.
Since then DJ Wayne R has held three residences at as the official Wedding resident at AZUR MARINA PAVILION in St Leonard’s and was featured on the BBC documentary Grand Wedding for a grand.
He held residencies at French’s nightspot in Hastings town centre as well as maintaining his other one at the London Trader in the Old Town for a few years.
DJ Wayne R is ready to use all his experience and flair to go back to his main love of playing at new venues and new occasions to show off his skills and versatility to a wider audience.
