DJ Jason Dupuy C.Eng., B.Eng.(Hons.)

Jason performs at clubs worldwide, national radio, television, prestigious corporate events and celebrity weddings. He has built up valuable experience playing at well over 1000 gigs, but is always keen to learn and is constantly striving to improve his performances. Importantly, his feet are planted firmly on the ground, he is always willing and enthusiastic to play whatever music is required to get the dance floor moving: be it an 80th birthday party, a trendy nightclub or a classy wedding. Jason's enjoyment comes from watching people thoroughly enjoying themselves, dancing to the music he plays - to him there is no better feeling!

Jason started his DJ career in Sydney, Australia, playing at many venues including Sydney Harbour. On his return to London he continued playing at weddings, corporate events and private functions; working for many well known agents, playing at top venues across the U.K. and overseas.

Today Jason is a well established club DJ with such a variety of music experience from working in so many well known clubs (listed below) with different music policies from 70's and 80's, to RnB and Hip Hop, to Funky House and Electro, to Commercial Pop and Chart. Jason is armed with the right music for any event and has the valuable experience to back it up. He carries an extremely versatile playlist and can play the appropriate music to keep the dance floor energetic all night; catering for any music taste be it a club or a private event, entertaining all the age groups in attendance.

Notable Events:

House of Commons. Jason is the only ever DJ to have been invited to play at the Houses of Parliament. "This was a very prestigious event and I found it reassuring to see some rather well known faces dancing just like everyone else after a few drinks. It was good fun and quite surreal!"

B.B.C. Christmas Party. "It is always a bit nerve racking to play for a TV channel and this was my first one...... I probably looked sheet white to start off. Once the party got swinging some colour hopefully returned to my cheeks and I could relax and enjoy the spectacle of B.B.C employees and the occasional presenter going for it on the stage or tables surrounding the dance floor - true entertainment."

El Divino's - Ibiza. "A great tick in the box for my personal achievements, and luck; to play at the Dance Music Mecca of the world - Ibiza - amazing."

Grosvenor House Ballroom - Park Lane, London (largest ballroom in Europe 2000 people) "This gig stood out for me. Although I have played at Grosvenor House on numerous occasions to a whole host of famous people for various charity events; on this particular occasion, I was standing in for Foxy (Capital FM and Pop Idol) who was unable to make it. The bit I found so interesting was being involved as a such a small part of the overall production team consisting of over 40 crew behind the scenes producing, managing, and operating lighting, effects, PA's, Mic levels, TV Cameras and so on; not to mention 4 days of set installation and breakdown. There was even a commentator with a very familiar voice sitting in a booth nearby which was very weird. I had never before fully appreciated all the work, effort and logistics that go in to putting on a show of that size. Trying to wear 2 pairs of headphones was quite funny as well, one pair for the music and the other for instructions from the producer etc."

Miami Winter Music Conference. "Miami was a very educational experience for me. As far as I could make out it is a kind of pre-season, American, Ibiza where artists and producers are all pushing their new tracks to labels for the forthcoming summer. All the big promoters have a night on and the week culminates with the Ultra Dance Festival. It was a tough, but thoroughly enjoyable week burning the candle at both ends. A very respected friend of mine Chris Brooks (who is no longer with us) always advised me, "If you fly with the Eagles you must rise with the Turkeys!" So up I would get every day with a sore head and few hours sleep to go and attend the actual Conference. There was so much to learn from pioneers who had been there and done it in the music industry. The frustrating thing was that there were three lectures running concurrently on various subjects and I could only be at one. Lectures I found useful were, Production, Songwrighting & Publishing, Media Relations, Get Signed, Digital Radio, Event Promotion, Legal & Finance (not the most exciting perhaps), Copyright & Piracy (that was also a struggle), New Media Marketing & Revenue Streams and Independent Label. I came back from Miami with floods of ideas. That's what I love about the music industry - there are so many facets there is always somewhere to improve. The Miami Music Conference made me appreciate the diversity of expertise involved across the Industry and now I could begin to understand the depth of knowledge required to succeed in each."

National Radio - New Zealand. A one hour Funky House/Electro set live on national radio in New Zealand. "I particularly enjoyed this as it was a new experience and honour for me to be let loose on the decks live on national radio - all be it in somebody else's country. There were telephone calls coming in from listeners in Auckland, Hamilton, Wellington, Queenstown, Dunedin and Christchurch all complimentary about the music I had been testing out in clubs back home and Ibiza that summer. Kiwis are lovely people with open minded musical tastes which made it a privilege and memorable highpoint in my career for sure."

BBC 1 Television Appearance. Jason was filmed DJ ing for the E-Bay (UK) Launch Party.

Club Residencies:

Tattershall Castle Night Club - Westminster (7 years and still current) playing current chart, pop, RnB, Hip Hop, Motown, 60's, 70's, 80's 90's, Rock, Indie, Club Classics, Commercial Dance, Funky House and Electro. A thriving night on board a converted paddle steamer with a swish £5 million refit and set amongst the London Eye and Big Ben. Jason always adapts his set as he goes along playing tunes to keep everyone involved and make the boat bounce in the Thames! A must if you are visiting London. Capacity is 1000. A prime spot for the New Year's Eve celebrations.

Sound - Leicester Square (2 years) as headline act mixing up a chunky set of RnB, Hip Hop, Garage and Urban. Jason frequently worked alongside Radio 1 DJ Trevor Nelson performing to 2000 people at one of London's most famous night spots.

"House of Fun" @ Carling Academy (Formerly The Marquee) - Islington (1 year). A blast from the past mixing some old vinyl, predominantly 70's, 80's and Funky Disco. This gave Jason the opportunity to learn more about the older genres and play cool but familiar tracks alongside live acts to create an awesome atmosphere. Capacity 1500

Oxygen - Leicester Square, (1 year). A cool two level club in the well known Leicester Square. Jason's sets covered Funky House, Electro, Uplifting House and Club Classics. Capacity 600

Electric Ballroom - Camden (6 months). A large club with 2000 capacity set in the trendy Camden Town area of London. Jason had to cater for a multitude of music tastes here with a mixture of age groups, cultures, locals and tourists. Music was kept mainstream and versatile across Current Chart, Commercial House, RnB, 70's and 80's.

Liquid Blue - Mayfair (1 year). A very exclusive club with a 200 capacity. Music policy was kept very up to date and commercial. Intimate venue as dance floor and stage in close proximity to the DJ booth which gave great feedback to each performance.

Callaghan's - Piccadilly Circus (2 years). Set right next to all the bright lights of Piccadilly Circus and a capacity of 300 there are some vivid memories of plenty of busy nights held there. Platinum promoted the nights there with their street team and promotional staff. Music policy was Rock, Indie, Oldies and obviously Irish, leading to much dancing on the tables and bar.

Old Cobblers - Holborn (1 year). A regular Friday night jaunt for 400 of London's financial district and after a few beers they knew how to party! Again a mixture of up to date genres with some 70's and 80's.

Yates - Leicester Square (1 year). Thursday nights capacity 750. Jason played to largely a RnB, Hip Hop crowd and used the opportunity to enhance the atmosphere VJ ing with some videos and visuals.

Henry's - Richmond (6 months). Capacity 500. Funky House, Electro, RnB. Lively late licence bar which developed quite a following.
