Jay regularly plays at XOYO (London’s hottest new club) & has also performed at The Scala, festivals, fashion shows, corporate events & prom parties. Currently, Jay holds down residencies at Piranha Bar, Hayling Island & BellHouse, Marylebone. He has also been booked for gigs in Australia, Malaysia & Majorca.

DJ Jay Q is a born and bred South Londoner, and has been a passionate music-lover ever since being brought up on a diet of Michael Jackson, Prince, James Brown & The Rolling Stones as a young kid. But it was on first hearing “It’s Tricky” by Run DMC when he was a teenager in the late 80’s that got him hooked on Hip-Hop! Although his skateboard & graffiti culture days are well behind him, he can still vividly remember annoying the hell out of his dad on long car journeys as he constantly played The Beastie Boys ‘Licensed to Ill’ album over & over.

Aside from being an expert in any genre & style of rap music, DJ Jay Q can also spin anything from rock n roll, indie, pop, commercial, top 40, house, dance, mainstream, EDM, RnB, soul, Motown & 60s 70s 80s 90s cheese or otherwise! Jay is happy to work to a pre-agreed set list & also play requests on the night.

He loves showing off his versatility, range and knowledge of music – spinning anthems, album cuts, forgotten classics and the odd surprise – adapting his set to warm up the crowd or create a party vibe.
