The Wedding Disco sound system is of night club Specification offering punchy bass, with powerful mid-range and clear treble. The Wedding Disco lighting rig we supply is also of night club specification (but portable) consisting of 2 x DMX Linked Intelligent Projection Abstract Twister 4 – 250 Watt HPs, which beam synchronous colours and patterns in a laser type effect when used in conjunction with a Fog/Haze machine (also included). There are also 2 x XTC 250 Watt Rainbow Scanner / Splitters which cover the walls, ceiling and dancefloor with a rainbow flood of warm colours. The lighting can be controlled to give a contemporary night club display or a more traditional party/disco presentation.

Our Wedding DJ Playlists consist of over 50,000 tracks covering every music genre from 1920’s to current. We update DJ Playlists every week to keep abreast of current music releases. This allows us to play around 95% of all requests made on the night by guests. Wedding speeches – microphones

Our Wedding DJ package comes complete with a Shure SM58 Microphone and 1500 Watt PA system so the Wedding Party can make speeches.

We also offer Sennheiser EM-1 UHF Cordless Radio Microphones so speeches can be made from the top table rather than been tied to the DJ Booth. These Radio Microphones are of very high quality to eliminate interference and feedback.

Background music

The Wedding DJ can play a selection of background music during dinner to create a pleasant ambiance, whilst monitoring the volume so as not to intrude on conversation around the tables.

We have traditional background music including Jazz and Ratpack or something a bit more contemporary such as Bhudda Bar, Chillout and Lounge Music. You can also request what background music you would like the Wedding DJ to play.

This involves experience not only in Weddings, but Clubs and Corporate Event so the DJs have a rounded grounding, music experience and can perform to club standards. However, there is no substitute for years and years of experience. A more experienced Wedding DJ will do a far better job at filling the dancefloor at your Event. Their performance, mixing skills and ability to read the crowd will be more polished. They will consistently feed the party with tracks to build and build the atmosphere to give an electric mood on the dance floor.

We are aware that it took quite a long time, but we both wanted to thank him very much for gifting us and our guests with an amazing time on the dance floor! Wayne was amazing! I honestly couldn’t have asked for better. He played all the songs on my wish list and then others I hadn’t even thought of. He introduced himself at the beginning of the night and made sure everything was ok at the end. I spent literally the whole night on the dancefloor. He arrived on time, was smartly dressed and was great. My groom (who never notices anything), mentioned how great and nice the DJ was.

As for you Lynn, you were equally great. Thanks for always responding so quickly to all of my emails. I know there were plenty- it’s hard planning a wedding from overseas and you usually have to wait for vendors to reply, this was never the case with you. I always got an email within the hour and that helps relieve a lot of stress. I would recommend you all to everyone. I really appreciate everything you did.

Having read the reviews on main website, it was a no brainer that someone of Wayne’s profile had to be hired for my 40th shin-dig at u plush hotel in central London for up to 100 guests. And boy did he not disappoint!!

Having profiled him with a list of song requests in advance of date, I might as well not have bothered!! As the music he played varying from the Soulful, AfroBeats, Basement to RnB jams and back and forth had the whole crowd jumping!! He’s experience of knowing when to switch between songs, interjecting, whilst a song was being played and hyping up the crowd, was right on the money!! And having watched the DVD of birthday time after since, only confirms that every penny spent on hiring this man, was money well spent in my eyes!!

Rest assured, not only will I recommend him to any family/friend of mine who requires a DJ but will be using him again and when I get married going forward. Seriously reader, you will not be disappointed in hiring the one and only AKA – DJ Wayne Smooth..

A true gent of a man also.

Just like to pass on our thanks to Platinum Djs and DJ Wayne Smooth himself for a great night.

Wayne was able to read the varied crowd excellently and after a slow start on the dance floor got things going with plenty of 80’s and 90’s crowd pleasers.
Also had no problems with any requests and generally being a cool guy kicking things along.

We were extremely happy how things went and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Wayne to wanting to ensure their party goes off!

Brilliant, absolutely brilliant. We found Wayne to be friendly, very personable and very easy to talk to. I’d already had a quick conversation with him when he phoned me some days before the party to discuss the song list I’d sent, and he turned out to be just as jolly and chatty face-2-face. He kept the party moving, gauged the modes beautifully and changed the music to suit the dancers. I’ve had nothing but great compliments back from the party-goers regarding what he played and how he joined it all together. It seemed to run smoothly which pointed to the fact that it was well thought out and beautifully planned. After taking my song list from me, more of a guide than a list of songs, Wayne took the mood and feel out of the list and seemed to build around it and the conversation w’d had and, for me, it was a great collection of songs; he even introduced me to some more up-to-date songs that I’d heard before but which fitted into the general groove.

Friends of ours are getting married soon and although they have already booked their DJ they have taken some song ideas from Wayne’s set to introduce to their DJ. Just reading back through this and it sounds really gushy but I cannot think of a bad or off-key moment in the set Wayne played and I personally danced as much as I was able and possibly more than I should have as the host, but the music was too good to ignore.

I would thoroughly recommend Wayne and your company to anyone who asks and thanks again to you and, of course, Wayne for making this party such a success. We may not leave it ten years for the next party and if we have another we will certainly come back to you for the music. Thanks again

I wanted you to please pass on my thanks to Wayne and Jay for their fantastic efforts at our wedding. They were simply brilliant. Wayne, as expected, kept the dance floor full all night and Jay’s magic touch with his drums was bloody brilliant! Everybody loved it and it really brought that ‘live’ element to accompany all the songs we know and love. I just wanted it to go on and on …

Both Jay and Wayne were great personalities too and I am trying to think up another excuse to sue them again! I’ll let you know if I come up with anything. In the mean time … I will be recommending them.

Thank you also you you both for your co-operation on the phone and via email. You never made me feel silly for asking lots of questions and I appreciate your patience and understanding.

I sent a few pics of the day that we just received from our photographer as a taster. I am nosy myself so thought you might be interested! Once we get the full lot of them, I’ll see if there are any of Wayne and Jay that I’ll email over to you. The two children in the pictures are ours: Angus is 4 yrs and Ariel will be 2 yrs at the end of Jan.

A question: would Wayne had a playlist of what he played that night? I have had a few people wanting to keep track of what was played so we can re-live if we have a party or whatever. You can let me know.

Mr and Mrs Nelson would like to show great appreciation to DJ Wayne for the marvellous job he did on our wedding day, at the Double Tree – by Hilton on Saturday 22/09/2012. We love the way he incorporated music from both our cultural backgrounds (Ghanian, Ehtopian and main stream music), as you can imaging due to the cultural diversity of us and our guests there had be a delicate balance. With this in mind DJ Wayne did his homework and showed up on the night to execute a flawless performance.

I had such a fun time thank you. DJ Wayne was amazing. Everyone was so impressed with him. I couldn’t have asked for more. He had a tough job because I had such a mix of people there but he managed to keep everyone happy. I don’t know how he made all the different styles of music fit in together but he did and made it work!!

I’ve sent over some photos which I’ve said you are welcome to use on your website. There are quite a few funny ones as I had a safari and samba theme to my party.

Dear Lynn
I just wanted to say a few words and share our thanks to your company and obviously to Wayne.

I connected with Wayne (our Wedding DJ) on our first conversation. Basically Wayne texted me details he required for our wedding. Soon after I texted the details, Wayne telephoned me and we had a conversation that lasted around 30/40 minutes. I knew after I had put the telephone down we had the right man, Wayne had put any doubts I had firmly to bed.

Wayne was always on hand before our big day with valuable advice, music, speech arrangement, first dance etc. So to the main event, the evening reception. On our arrival Wayne was already there with music playing in the background, even though we were at least 40 minutes earlier than expected. Wayne introduced himself to my wife and I and congratulated the pair of us; Wayne was extremely polite and friendly and was everything I/we had expected and much more.

There was a twist to our first dance that Wayne and my best man had hatched, which was executed wickedly. Once our first dance was over it was time for our guests to boogie and to show everyone his skills in DJ-ing. Wayne filled the dance floor all night with his knowledge of music. We (my wife and I) spoke the next day that there was people who do not normally dance was up on the dance floor enjoying themselves. Not only was Wayne playing the music but was speaking over the microphone and getting everyone buzzing and making sure everyone was having a real good time. Young and old was up dancing, amazing, I think I speak for everyone on the night that we did not want the disco to stop.

We left the whole playlist to Wayne (after all said and done he’s the expert), and how right was we.

Our guests commented on Wayne’s excellent performance which made us proud as the evening reception is all about our guests and if they are enjoying themselves then so are we. Part of me thinks Wayne might have enjoyed himself as well (lol), Wayne is so passionate about his music and that comes across very clear. Wayne always had a smile on his face.

Words cannot express how delighted we were to have Wayne on board as part of our entertainment, a true professional and gent.

We thank you Wayne from the bottom of our hearts, you are the man.

Wayne was our DJ at the Great Ormond Street Hospital Masquerade Xmas Ball on 2nd Dec at Double Tree Hilton, Holborn.

Career

Jason started his DJ career in Sydney, Australia, playing at many venues including Sydney Harbour. On his return to London he continued playing at clubs, weddings,corporate events and private functions; working for many well known agents, playing at top venues across the U.K. and overseas.

Today Jason is a well established club DJ and member of the Musician’s Union with such a variety of music experience from working in so many well known clubs (listed below) with different music policies from House, Trance, 60’s, 70’s, 80’s and 90’s, RnB and Hip Hop, Funky House and Electro, to Commercial Pop and Chart. Jason is armed with the right music for any event and has the valuable experience to back it up.

He carries an extremely versatile playlist consisting of over 50,000 tracks and can play the appropriate music to keep the dance floor energetic all night.

Jason will caters for any music taste be it a club or a private event, entertaining all the age groups in attendance.Most importantly of all he has the natural gift to create a fantastic atmosphere.  

Notable Events:

House of Commons 2002. Jason is the first ever DJ to have been invited to play at the Houses of Parliament in 2002. This was a very prestigious event and he found it reassuring to see some rather well known politicians dancing just like everyone else after a few drinks. It was good fun and quite surreal! B.B.C. Christmas Party 2001 – 2003. This was Jason’s first TV channel event. Once the party got swinging he could relax and enjoy the spectacle of B.B.C employees and the occasional presenter going for it on the stage or tables surrounding the dance floor – true entertainment. El Divino’s – Ibiza 2004. A great tick in the box for Jason’s personal DJ achievements the opportunity to play at the Dance Music Mecca of the world – Ibiza – in the days of Vinyl- amazing. U.E.F.A. Champions League Final – Wembley 2011. Jason was asked to mix up a DJ set consisting of Lounge Music and Chillout for the breaks and after party for the biggest match of the football calendar. The stadium held 90,000 people that day. Platinum DJs also provided DJ Vicky Devine (from Judgement Sundays, Ibiza) and DJ Michelle Ericsson (U.S.A.) to perform in the V.I.P. and V.V.I.P. parties. A very high profile event with royal families, politicians, players and celebrities in attendance.   Grosvenor House Ballroom – Park Lane, London (largest ballroom in Europe 2000 people) This gig stood out for Jason as being slightly different. Although having played at Grosvenor House on many occasions to a whole host of famous people at various events; on this particular occasion, Jason was standing in for Capital FM Radio DJ and Pop Idol Judge – Foxy as he was unable to make it. Jason enjoyed being involved as part of the overall production team consisting of over 40 crew behind the scenes producing, managing, and operating lighting, effects, PA’s, Mic levels, TV Cameras and so on; not to mention 4 days of set installation and breakdown. There was even a TV commentator with a very familiar voice sitting in the booth next to Jason making all the commentary. The gig really made Jason appreciate all the work, effort and logistics that go in to putting on a TV show of that size. Trying to wear 2 pairs of headphones was quite funny as well, one pair or DJ headphones and a pair of production headphones for instructions from the producer.

Miami Winter Music Conference 2004. This was a very educational experience for Jason. WMC Miami is a kind of pre-season, American, Ibiza where artists and producers are all pushing their new tracks to record labels for the forthcoming summer. All the big promoters have a night on and the week culminates with the Ultra Dance Festival. It was a tough, but thoroughly enjoyable week burning the candle at both ends going to the DJ Event Parties in the Evening such as Defected, Hed Kandi, Ultra Festival, plus Jason’s own set at Amica on Miami South Beach and then get up each morning to attend the actual Conference. There was so much to learn from the pioneers of the music industry. Lectures found useful were, Production, Songwriting & Publishing, Media Relations, Get Signed, Digital Radio, Event Promotion, Legal & Finance (not the most exciting perhaps), Copyright & Piracy (that was also a struggle), New Media Marketing & Revenue Streams and Independent Label. Jason came back from Miami refreshed, rejuvinated and with floods of ideas to implement in to his DJ sets and career. That’s what Jason loves about the music industry – there are so many facets there is always somewhere to improve, so he is constantly refining ideas to keep ahead. The Miami Music Conference demonstrated the diversity of expertise involved across the Industry and now Jason could begin to understand the depth of knowledge required to succeed in each area and have the contacts to help.

Sound – Leicester Square (2003 – 2005) as headline act mixing up a chunky set of RnB, Hip Hop, Garage and Urban. Jason frequently worked alongside Radion 1 DJ Trevor Nelson performing to 2000 people at one of London’s most famous night spots in the epicentre of London’s commercial club land, Leicester Square.

House of Fun @ Carling Academy – Islington (2006). A blast from the past mixing some old vinyl, predominantly 70’s, 80’s and Funky Disco. This gave Jason the opportunity to learn more about the older genres and play cool but familiar tracks in his DJ set alongside live acts to create an awesome atmosphere. Capacity 1500 Oxygen – Leicester Square (2004-2005). A cool two level club A in the well known Leicester Square. Jason’s DJ sets covered Funky House, Electro, Uplifting House and Club Classics. Capacity 600 Electric Ballroom – Camden (2006). A large club with 2000 capacity set in the trendy Camden Town area of London. Jason had to cater for a multitude of music tastes here with a mixture of age groups and cultures both locals and tourists. Music was kept mainstream and versatile across Current Chart, Commercial House, RnB, 70’s and 80’s.

Liquid Blue – Mayfair (2006). A very exclusive DJ club with a 200 capacity. Music policy was kept very up to date and commercial. Intimate venue as dance floor and stage in close proximity to the DJ booth which gave great feedback to each performance. Callaghan’s – Piccadilly Circus (1999 – 2001). Set right next to all the bright lights of Piccadilly Circus and a capacity of 300 there are some vivid memories of plenty of busy nights held there. Platinum DJs promoted the nights with their street team and promotional staff. Music policy was Rock, Indie, Oldies and Irish, leading to much dancing on the tables and bar.

Old Cobblers – Holborn (2000). A regular Friday night jaunt for 400 of London’s financial district and after a few beers they knew how to party! Again a mixture of up to date genres with some 70’s and 80’s. Yates – Leicester Square (2004). Thursday nights – capacity 750. Jason played to largely a RnB, Hip Hop crowd and used the opportunity to enhance the atmosphere VJ’ing with some videos and visuals. Jason often found himself walking between the 3 clubs he was DJ’ing at in Leicester Square to play a set at each. Lot s of stamina required. Henry’s – Richmond (2007). Capacity 500. Funky House, Electro, RnB. Lively late licence bar which developed quite a following.

Matt is a club DJ who has cut his teeth on the London club scene. Matt has held residencies at Oceanas in Watford (capacity 2700) and Club Ten in St Paul’s, London (Capacity 250). An accomplished club DJ, Matt can mix any style of music with proficiency and has good experience reading the dancefloor.

Matt was also composer for Lady Gaga on 2 of her DVDs, “One Sequin at a Time” and “Undressed.” These were broadcast on UK and American television, and he is credited on IMDB.
