If you’re having trouble thinking what song would be appropriate then you’re going to need help. And as professional DJs (music is our job, after all) we can help you find the perfect tune to dance the night away to.

A common musical interest – You aren’t the only one getting married today and the first dance song shouldn’t be your choice alone. Chances are, you and your partner have similar musical tastes. But sometimes opposites do attract.

Select a genre that you both like and then narrow down the song list. You’ll find yourself saying ‘yes’ to some stuff and your partner ‘no’ to it. Slowly but surely you’ll be able to boil it down to a list of songs.

The lyrics mean a lot – Now consider the lyrics of each song. You don’t want a song with lyrics completely unrelated to the whole wedding and to the two of you specifically. Whatever you story is, there will be a song out there that relates to it.

Some song lyrics might mean one thing to you and something completely different to someone else. Study them carefully.

The beat – It’s the first dance, so you need to be able to dance to it. And that’s all about the beat. You don’t want to have to attempt a break dance to keep to the beat of a song, so pick something moderately slow.

It’s fine you’re an expert at the Cha Cha, but you know your partner isn’t.

Think outside the box – And lastly, try and think of something a little different. Don’t go for the standard ‘wedding songs’ because your guests have heard them all before. Adele, Whitney – be different and have fun with your choice!

I am writing this letter in full support of Jason’s interest and determination to spend time and energy in the studio – in terms of producing modern, dynamic and energy in the studio – in terms of producing modern, dynamic Dance Music. I have known Jason for over 10 years and have engaged with him as a DJ act, hands-on owner of a busy DJ Agency – and a pro-active ages in terms of sourcing, negotiating with and booking extremely credible DJ acts, for our festival and club events, in recent years.

I have seen Jason play live on large stages, alongside legendary and contemporary big name DJs; and have always been impressed with his ability to both ‘read the crowd’, as well as moving between well prepared sets – and improvised tracks and mixes, to really bring something special to his performance.

I have no doubt that with time and support, that Jason will make fast progress in terms of producing his own samples and music – and using that to successfully release tracks into the dance charts, to gain popularity and following. I know his goals include creating more than Top 10 Dance Chart success and I share his opinion that it will be the most effective way to develop himself as a main stage act. We enjoy working with artists of Jason’s calibre and position, as the progress and growth that it often brings, helps us to raise awareness and expectation – as well as sell tickets!

As the founding director of Time Off Festivals, I would whole heartedly support his application and will continue to work with him in line with all three vocations – whilst we look forward to him performing live for us at next year’s two-day dance music Festival, scheduled for July 2021.

Just wanted to say a massive thanks for helping to make Lloydfest such a fantastic day. We have had so many people coming back to us to say how amazing it was, comments like “it was the best party I have EVER been to” and “It was the best weekend of my life” were fantastic to hear. So many also have asked for it to be an annual event which maybe after a few weeks might sound OK but at the moment we are still pretty exhausted from all the preparation and the day itself.

I so enjoyed playing my set and you being there too was such a fantastic experience, I also loved your set and the music you played was absolutely spot on, even my 16 year old daughter said she is going to book you for her 18th Birthday nest year, which is a bit of a first as she usually says I am out of touch but she admits booking you was a great choice (I’m still in shock).

I really wanted the house to be a nightclub, with a dance floor, coats area, security (just to be safe!) and a brilliant DJ to keep them dancing all night. 40 plus 16 year olds are a tough crowd so I was worried. But Jason was fantastic. The kids danced most of the night and the only lull was a few minutes to catch their breath. My daughter’s playlist was covered fairly early on, then we left it to Jason to read the crowd – and he did. The lads even shook our hands as they left saying it was the best party they’d ever been to (and there’s been a lot around here). My daughter is still on a high and the kids are still talking about it. Absolutely fantastic. Thank you so much Jason – see you in two years for the 18th.

Friday 5th May 2017 18.00-3.00 was David Bowie get together 2 time. There was guests from all over Britain dancing the night away to Bowie music only. This was the 2nd year that we did this event as it was so popular. Our night was so successful we are being encouraged to do a third next year. In my opinion the main reason for this success was the music and the was it was delivered. There was old classics up to date and obscure music, but it was all Bowie only music. This was hugely appreciated by all who attended. Now as I have said, this is all down to the way the music was delivered. It was flowing, clear, not too loud, just right in every way, professional is the word and great value for money. It just leaves me to say a huge massive thank you to Jason Dupuy. If we in fact hold a third get together you’ll be the first to know. Tony Allen.

The music worked for everyone – from the teenagers to the oldies. I would definitely recommend anyone who wants music for a special event to choose Platinum. Very impressed you got us such a great DJ at such short notice.
Please inform us of any improvements we could make : None. Everyone at Platinum we have talked to – Lynn, Wayne and Jason – has been very accommodating.
Maybe change the form which outlines the prices – I found it hard to work out.

DJ Jason was professional, fun and paid close attention to detail – he made sure we had a superb time!

Before the event he made time to learn about our preferences and requests, responding in a timely way to phone calls and emails.
He arrived early enough to set up to be ready to play right on time which meant the party ran really smoothly, and he looked the part in his dinner jacket.
He managed to fill the dance floor even though our party was in the middle of the day. He was flexible and even amenable to requests for Bhangra – and I’ve received feedback that he did very well with it!

He provided just the right amount of communication in terms of announcements.
In addition the volume of the music was spot on- loud enough so we knew we were at a cracking party but not uncomfortably so!

DJ Jason has brilliant judgement in terms of choosing the right track at the right time. He played the slightly older, more classic (and universally loved) tracks at the beginning and got everyone onto the dance floor. He managed to build the atmosphere up, over the event, to a really exhilarating and memorable finale- he had clearly listened to what we especially liked and made sure that the party ended with a bang. I especially appreciated the way he managed to get everyone back onto the dance floor for some classic Sinatra- and even joined in himself- just before said finale. DJ Jason really was an instrumental part of the party.

DJ Jason is talented and professional and actively tailors his choices to fit the crowd; he is so perceptive and reads the room beautifully. He excelled at the challenge of playing to a varied group and making sure everyone had a really glorious time; and it was great to see that he was having a good time himself too. He was also kind enough to spend time reflecting with me in a really positive and thoughtful way about how he thought the party went afterwards. He is polite and courteous and very easy to get on with.

It was an honour to have DJ Jason playing at our event. Thank you so much.

Jason Dupuy was a wow DJ at our house party,cannot recommend him highly enough.Sensational. Organising a party,call these guys.

Wow, where do I start? The best in business. These guys exude Charisma, Confidence and they are nothing but professionals. They are easy going, down to earth and just a pleasure to be around. Nothing is too much, they are in tune with your needs and do their absolute best to make the night as perfect as possible for you. I booked them for my wedding and we had a real nice positive club vibe at the wedding reception. Because they are so amazing I re-booked them for my wife’s 30th party, to me they’re like family now so I couldn’t not. You know what you’re getting with them; reliability, quality and a performance that is not attainable by your bog standard pub DJ. The fact is you get what you pay for in life, these guys won’t be the cheapest in the business but that’s irrelevant, you pay for quality. At an event, the DJ is what really makes it. SHIT DJ = Shit Event. That’s a given. If I ever organise another event and it requires a DJ there won’t be a single doubt in my mind about using these guys again. I can’t recommend or thank them enough. I hope that helps others to make their decision, and anyone wishing to validate the independence of this review is welcome to contact me directly. A little tip: if booking them definitely ask to see if JayOnDrums and the Saxophonist are available as they give it an even more special vibe. Keep doing what you’re doing guys as you’re absolutely smashing it.

We both thanked Jason on the night but he was absolutely excellent – so helpful and accommodating. We had so many positive comments about the music. It really was a great party… there were boos when the power automatically cut out at 11 am.

The hall itself looked great, the lights worked really well, in the hall and on the stage.

Just wanted to say thanks to Jason and the team for the most remarkable performance. We originally found him by a Google search for award winning DJ’s as we wanted the best and that’s exactly what we received. Jason is extremely professional and extremely skilled he listened to my needs and executed the performance flawlessly, there wasn’t a single request he wasn’t able to fulfil. He went the extra mile and even threw in some extras for us which was a pleasant surprise. He brought a fantastic team with him; Jay on drums is a true performer. He’s confident, charismatic and he just radiates positivity and makes the whole place feel good. An excellent percussionist who really adds that edge to the performance. If I ever book Jason again, which I’m sure I will, it will not be without Jay because together the performance is unforgettable. Last but not least John O’Neill, he’s one hell of a cool cat he makes sax playing look simple. He stands there chilled and along with the other two guys just jazzes up the place outstandingly well. He’s fantastic, plays tremendously and again along with the others gives an outstanding performance. Conclusively Platinum DJs completely exceeded my expectations and I would have no hesitation rebooking them or recommending them to others. I have heard cheap DJs play and would recommend you always pay the extra for these guys! It’s money extremely well spent!

We would be very keen for you to come back and DJ at the festival this year within the Greenman Inn on the Thursday and Friday nights of the festival. It was really great working with you. I can’t tell you how much I appreciated you making the sound & music work so seamlessly for the Burlesque show and the weirdly brilliant (??) Lady Gaga. It seemed that the dance floor was full and that all of the guests made the most of the salami stained mirrored dance floor! Are you on Facebook? Jason is a superstar! We thought he was fantastic and couldn’t think of anything he could have done better! The equipment was all set up on time and looked very professional. The sound quality was great, and Jason played a really good selection of music (including requests), ensuring the dance floor was busy all night. He was very nice and had good energy – he didn’t talk too much over the music (which was a bit of a worry when we first started looking for DJs!) but was always happy to make announcements, which he did professionally and effectively. We would not hesitate to recommend Jason to anyone (and would be happy to do so), and he would definately be our first choice should we ever need to book a DJ in the future.

Well, what can I say, you did a brilliant job and thank you very very much. Your choice of music was great and everyone saying how much they danced and danced and danced. I think Zoe will be in touch with you about booking you for our Christmas Disco which is a more informal ‘do’ than our ball.

After the dinner everyone moved into the Strangers’ Dining Room for a disco. The thunderous music shook the vunerable oil paintings as never before. During the disco Oscars were awarded in the following catagories; Most likely to succeed, in another job, Would never have made it in the movies (most talkative) Don’t try this at home (most accident prone) Best Director(always bossing people around) Best foreign performance (anyone not born in greater London). Each was received in very good heart. The DJ (who everyone thought was excellent) had many requests to keep things going well beyond the published finishing time, and to his credit he amiably went along with it. Nobody wanted to leave. When eventually things had to end there was a sense of satisfaction that it had all gone so well. It was a truly fantastic , problem-free evening and it was good that those who spend the entire year facilitating enjoyment for others had on this occasion some of their own. The event should definately be repeated.
